More Than Dance!

$1.00 Project

What Side Street Kids means to me.

Side Street Kids means close to the world to me.  I LOVE SSK!  I love the people that work there; I love all of the friends that I have made there.  SSK has a very family loving attitude.  Everyone knows everyone.  When I can’t turn to my mom or anyone else in my family, the first thing that comes to my head is SSK.  The teachers are simply amazing.  From Walter to Krystal to Nina, etc.  I adore everyone there!  SSK really does standup for their motto “More Than Dance”.  If you are having problems outside of the classroom then there will be someone to help you with your problems, as well as homework.  Along with my family SSK helps me with my homework.  There is almost a teacher for everything.  If not a teacher then a student.  Like the students that are in High School or College or maybe even real teachers like Nicolle.  I am grateful for everything that I do with Side Street, especially the fact that Side Street was close to closing over the summer.  That had to be one of the hardest times in my life.  All of the friends that I had…GONE…all of the future events…GONE…!!

Without Side Street (along with my family) I would not have been part of the girl I am today.  SSK has taught me to be confident in myself and much more.  SSK has also taught me how to dance a large number of dances.  From salsa to cha-cha to hip-hop, everyone participates.  I am very excited to see SSK still open.  I hope to see it open for many more years to come.  I am thankful for EVERYTHING in LIFE!!  But I am very thankful for God opening my eyes to SSK.

I LOVE SIDE STREET KIDS!!

You can make a difference in the life of this young lady and many like her.  Or you can just press “Delete” and go about your day.  We forward jokes, amazing pictures, prayers, etc.   Let’s see if we can make this work on a local, state, national and global level.  This year Side Street Kids almost had to close their doors but we are working hard and being persistent to help keep our school up and running.  In the last couple of months we’ve held important events such as the College Fair, The Financial Planning and Self Defense Workshops.

In the words of President Obama, “think about what you can do to shape the country that we love.”  Let’s see how far a small organization in the Bronx can go with your $1.00 donation.  Yes we can, but not without your help!  Don't leave it to somebody else.  It's your job to "Pay It Forward."
